An innovative idea
What a wonderful and innovative idea. I truly wish it success.
The outline on how it will work is brilliant. We desperately need some
kind of exchange as Rousso dreams.
I can see a lot of opposition coming from the auction houses, but if they
are smart and can see beyond today, they will join in on the idea rather
than fight it.
There is strength in numbers. More can be accomplished by working together
than separately. Wonderful things are available for us in this high tech
age. Why not bring stamp collecting into the 21st century.
Something of this sort will increase the market for stamps. In 1960, a
monster day for the NY Stock Exchange was trading 4 million shares: today,
its 140 million. Think of the new collectors which will be attracted to
our hobby because of an exchange during the next 25 years.
If Rousso can resist the temptation of greed, as has happened in the bullion,
coin, and financial areas, his idea will earn him a place in history.
